Jan 08, 2016 (newstodate): With a name change to Sky Greenland, registered as of yesterday, Gert Brask is continuing his efforts to relaunch his former Greenland Express with new aircraft in 2016.
-Negotiations with Sukhoi and the Russian bank securing the lease agreements for Superjet 100 aircraft are progressing, and a Russian delegation including bank representatives will come to Denmark after the current Russian Christmas celebrations, says Mr Brask.
-Hopes are to land the leasing contracts soon, paving the road for the successive delivery of a total of five aircraft in 2016-18.
-We have now entered a cooperation with another European airline partner and will start flight operations based on his AOC pending the granting of an own AOC by Sky Greenland while our application is being readied for filing with the Danish Trafikstyrelsen.
-With our new airline partner, the Superjet aircraft will initially be operated on a number of European flights, and when conditions are ready out attention will be turned towards serving the Greenlandic market as well, says Mr Brask.
