Jan 21, 2016 (newstodate): Estonia's Nordic Aviation is now in the air with its first own aircraft in commercial traffic.
The aircraft, an Bombardier CRJ700, will be joined by a sister aircraft already from February, and plans are to take in one addition aircraft per month until reaching the target for 2016, which is six aircraft by summer 2016.
The two CRJ700 aircraft are leased from he US company Regional One and were formerly flying with Estonian Air until the demise of the airline that performed it last flight on November 7, 2015.
Next in the pipeline will be also be Bombardier aircraft, probably including the larger CRJ900 type that was also operated by Estonian Air.
The aircraft will serve Nordic Aviation while operating on the AOC of its strategic and commercial partner Adria Airways pending the granting of Nordic Aviation Group's own AOC, expected by mid-2016.
Nordic Aviation performed its first flight on November 8, 2015, with aircraft operated by Adria Airways in cooperation with BMI, Trade Air, NextJet and Carpatair.
