Jan 21, 2016 (newstodate): On the initiative of Riga Airport and with the participation of 30 of the leading aviation industry companies in Latvia, the Aviation Association of Latvia was founded on January 20, 2016.
The Association will work for enhancing the values of Latvias aviation industry and supporting the competitiveness of the related businesses in the local and international market, and development of human resources for the aviation industry as well as the engagement of the industry companies in the planning processes of the national aviation policies.
The Association will set up six clusters: passenger transportation and tourism; Aviation cargo services and infrastructure; Aircraft handling and business aviation; Aviation research and education; Aviation services, manufacture of systems and equipment; and Regional aviation and airfields.
At its founding, the Association adopted the Operational Strategy of the Association for the Years 2016-2020.
