Jan 04, 2016 (newstodate): Pending an official announcement from Airbus, the Japanese media Nikkei Asian review is alone in reporting a fresh order for the Airbus A380 - the first in two years.
According to the media, the Japanese carrier ANA will take three Airbus A380 from 2018 to be introduced on international routes already operated with filled-up Boeing 747-400 aircraft including flights to Hawaii.
If the story holds, ANA will become the first Japanese carrier to operate the Airbus A380 after Airbus in 2014 cancelled an earlier order from 2011 by Skymark for six aircraft due to non-compliance with contract payment obligations.
Speculations are that the order may comprise two already-built A380 aircraft meant for Skymark, and one of four aircraft originally intended for the Russian carrier Transaero
