Jan 25, 2016 (newstodate): With only three to go before the visit by Iran's president to France and Italy, rumors of massive aircraft acquisitions are streaming in.
According to several media, the president's visit is expected to ink an order with Airbus for delivery of eight Airbus A380, 45 A320, 40 A330 and a number of used A340 aircraft.
Delivery of the first A380 will be slated for 2019, but the first Airbus aircraft are expected to leave for Iran already from late in March 2016.
While Airbus thus seems to first out, Boeing will also see fresh Iranian orders for up to 100 aircraft, and Iran is also expected to take a number of regional aircraft including 40 from ATR, with other providers including Sukhoi and Bombardier in the plans as well.
