Jan 05, 2016 (newstodate): Airbus completed its series of Airbus A350 deliveries with waving goodbye to its 19th aircraft on the last day of the year.
The aircraft is now with its operator, Finnair that has thus taken in its third A350 aircraft, with the next delivery slated for January 27, 2016 while a fifth aircraft is now on the flight line with Airbus in Toulouse.
Finnair has ordered a total of 19 new A350-900 XWB aircraft. Finnair took delivery of its first A350 aircraft on October 7, 2015, and the second on 14 December 14, 2015.
According to the delivery schedule earlier announced, Finnair will have five A350-900 aircraft at the beginning of the second quarter of 2016, seven by the end of 2016, 11 by the end of 2017, and 19 by the end of 2023.
The delivery schedule may, however, already have been revised.
On December 23, 2015, Finnair announced its MoU with GECAS for a sale/lease back arrangement concerning its sixth and seventh Airbus A350.
In this announcement, Finnair says it will take delivery of the sixth aircraft in July 2016, while the seventh aircraft will enter the fleet only in February 2017.
