Jan 08, 2016 (newstodate): The aviation industry in a number of East European and Central Asian countries will now get European support to upgrading to European standards in safety and other aspects.
The EU Commission has contracted EASA to support the sustainable development of civil aviation in accordance with international standards as to training, implementation of initiatives for security management and administration in the field of civil aviation, effective solutions to security issues identified during the audit, implementation of existing comprehensive aviation agreements, and standardization of rules and practices working with international safety standards.
Comprised by the new assistance program are the aviation industries in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
