Jan 07, 2016 (newstodate): Fears that the enforcement by January 4, 2016, of stricter border control of traffic from Denmark into Sweden would create problems also for trucking services seem not to be justified.
-Now into the fourth day with the new border crossing procedures, no major problems have been reported by our drivers, says Martin Knudsen, Haugsted Aircargo Services Truck Supervisor.
-We may experience some five minutes extra time spent at the border while inspections of vehicles, personnel and cargo are performed but this constitutes no major problem and is no threat to punctuality.
-The same seems to be the case with crossing the borders between Denmark and Sweden that are now also being more closely monitored on a random basis, and here the effects are even less, considering the longer total transport times involved.
-We continue to monitor the situation but do not see any signs of disturbance to our routines, says Mr Knudsen.
