Jan 06, 2016 (newstodate): The cooling-off in relations between Russia and Turkey hits Turkey's LCC Pegasus Airlines.
With effect from January 1, 2016, the Russian authorities have abrogated the visa-free entrance of Turkish citizens into Russia with the effect that airline crews are also not able to enter the country without pertinent papers.
This has now forced Pegasus and Onur Air to suspend services between Russian and Turkish destinations.
The new Russian regulations apply to charter operations only, at this stage at least, leaving Turkish Airlines free to operate.
