January 04, 2015 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport barely managed to close 2015 with a positive growth in cargo volumes by 0.7 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 63,023 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, including 21,645 tonnes of imports, down 5.1 percent, and 41,278 tonnes of exports that lifted by four percent during the year.
While 2015 was thus marked by only marginal growth in total cargo at Billund Airport, volumes were still comparatively high, not much below the record year 2013, when the airport handled 63,420 tonnes.
In 2014 Billund Airport saw volumes down by 1.3 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 62,608 tonnes of cargo.
December 2015 alone contributed to the full-year volumes with a growth by 3.7 percent, y-o-y, to 4,910 tonnes including 1,741 tonnes of imports that grew 9.6 percent due to Santa's efforts, and 3,169 tonnes of exports that were up only slightly by 0.7 percent.
