Jan 28, 2016 (newstodate): The Belarus capital airport at Minsk reported a significant growth in traffic through 2015.
The airport's passenger volumes were up by 7.3 percent, y-o-y, to 2,783,000, and included in this is the volume of transfer passengers that almost doubled compared to 2014, proving that the airport has managed to fetch its part of the diluted air traffic between Russia and Ukraine after the rift between these two countries and the abrogation of direct air services.
The airport is now serving 18 airlines of which five were added in 2015, including Uzbekistan Airways, Air China and three Ukrainian airlines Ukraine International Airlines, Dniproavia and Motor Sich.
