Sep 01, 2015 (newstodate): Budapest Airport has officially opened a new maintenance hangar built exclusively for its home-based carrier Wizz Air.
Based on a 15 year lease agreement, the hangar will provide maintenance works on the currently nine Airbus A320 aircraft based at Budapest and will also match the requirements of the fleet of Airbus A321 aircraft to be delivered to Wizz Air from 2019.
At the opening ceremony, Wizz Air announced the addition of a 10th Airbus A320 at Budapest which will support the planned increases on the London Luton service, from four to five daily, as well as an expected weekly increase to Gothenburg.
In total, Wizz Air will serve a total of 45 routes to 20 countries during the coming winter schedule.
