Sep 11, 2015 (newstodate): The issue of opening flights between Kazakhstan and the Baltic region will be on the agenda at the forthcoming exhibition Transit Kazakhstan-2015 in Almaty.
Pressing the point will be the new Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty speaking at a recent press conference.
-To further the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Lithuania, there is a need for establishing direct air links with the Baltic countries, he said.
From the Baltic side, the only carrier capable of serving a route between the region and Kazakhstan would be airBaltic that actually started flights between Riga and Almaty on April 17, 2008, offering two weekly rotations that were, however, suspended again at the end of the summer 2009 schedule.
