Sep 28, 2015 (newstodate): New in the air is BackBone Aviation A/S offering charter, VIP, Business, medivac and other services from Billund Airport, Denmark.
In the fleet of BackBone Aviation is one ex-Cimber CRJ200 aircraft owned by another Danish company, Global Reach Aviation, and the first commercial flight was performed on July 27, 2015, lifting a European sports team to a sports event.
BackBone Aviation, with Nicolas Weber as Managing Director, has its HQ at Esbjerg Airport, while the aircraft is stationed at Billund Airport.
In November 2014, BackBone Aviation also entered a cooperation agreement with the Danish freight forwarding company Blue Water and a local industrial personality Martin Skibsted, Saksk�bing Sukkerfabrik, to support a project to link Denmark and Germany via a fixed link across the Baltic Sea's Fehmern Belt.
Plans are to use a small local airport at Maribo, with one 1,200 m asphalt-surfaced runway, offering close air support to the project in terms of passenger and cargo transportation.
