Sep 14, 2015 (newstodate): Since Emirates located its freighter hub at Copenhagen Airport from July 1, 2014, traffic has been growing and growing..
Starting from this winter schedule, Emirates SkyCargo will again be routing three more flights between the Gulf and USA through Copenhagen Airport, benefiting from the absence of night curfews in effect at other European airports such as Amsterdam and Frankfurt as well as the traffic rights pertaining to this traffic.
With these new additions, Emirates SkyCargo will bring the total of flights rotating at Copenhagen Airport to 14 during the winter schedule.
The increasing traffic via Copenhagen Airport brings only limited net capacity increases to the Nordic markets as the aircraft between North America and Dubai are in most cases already fully, or close to fully loaded.
The main immediate beneficiary from this increasing traffic is, therefore, Copenhagen Airport in the form of rising income from landing and other service charges.
Emirates SkyCargo's cargo GSSA in the Nordic and Baltic markets is ScanPartners, with HQs in Copenhagen, Denmark, while handling is provided by Spirit Air Cargo Handling.
