Sep 01, 2015 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo has proudly announced that Lithuania has become the first market in their network to go fully paperless by implementing the H-AWB.
At least one major player among the country's forwarders seems less convinced.
-We still have to deliver paper AWBs to Lufthansa Cargo, says Gintaras Streikus, Interekspresas owner and CEO.
-Of course we would welcome to see less paper, and we would not miss the AWB either. However, we still have plenty of technological issues with the software to issue Lufthansa Cargo's H-AWBs. And neither the handling company Litcargus nor the Lufthansa Cargo help desk can detect where the problems arise.
-So nothing has really changed in the last year. Some minor technical issues are still creating big problems. But after all, we are still in the early days of the 21st century - we have to be patient with IT! says Mr Streikus.
