Sep 17, 2015 (newstodate): Finnish aviation union workers are calling new strike actions on Friday, and Finnair flights are also affected in today's traffic.
As a precaution, Finnair has so far canceled 16, primarily domestic flights on Friday, but Finnair Cargo hopes that the recurrent strike actions will not seriously affect the air cargo movements.
-We do have a couple of busy days evaluating the potential impact of the labor actions tomorrow, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Marketing Manager.
-Luckily it looks that the cancellations will impact domestic flights within Finland only, so hopefully we can manage this for the cargo side with some delays only. As a precaution we have placed an embargo on valuables and live animals for Friday, says Ms Nyholm.
On the sunny side September 15, 2015, saw the launch of Finnair Cargo's shared freighter service with IAG Cargo between Helsinki and London Luton Airport offering two weekly rotations with an Airbus A300-600 freighter aircraft from DHL Aviation.
