Sep 21, 2015 (newstodate): The Estonian carrier Estonian Air is forced to rent temporary aircraft to bridge delays in new aircraft deliveries.
The carrier is due to receive two Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft, originally slated for delivery by mid-September.
But the aircraft are still not ready for delivery in accordance with the specs set by Estonian Air, so Estonian Air has been forced to take in a Fokker 100 aircraft from Carpatair on a short-term contract after earlier leasing also one ATR 42 and one ATR 72 from DAT, one ATR 72 from DOT, and an Embraer 145 from bmi Regional.
The shortage of aircraft follows after the start of the ongoing re-delivery program of the four Embraer E-170 now being returned to the lessor.
