Sep 30, 2015 (newstodate): The winner in the tender for air services on eight subventioned domestic routes in Norway has now been announced - and Wideroe took it all..
The tender comprised flights on four routes into Oslo and four into Bergen to be operated during the period April 1, 2016 - March 31, 2020, and competing with Wideroe on the route between Roeraas and Oslo was the Danish carrier DAT that has earlier served the route.
But - DAT did not qualify as the carrier calculated with fewer rotations on the route as required in the tender material.
-The tender has been handled with 100 percent fairness by the Norwegian authority, and we openly admit that we committed a serious error in our bid that would otherwise have qualified economically. And unfortunately this error was not caught by a subsequent quality control prior to delivery, says Jesper Rungholm, DAT CEO.
Formerly very active in the Norwegian air transport market, DAT is now offering flights only on the domestic route between Stord and Oslo with 12-13 weekly rotations.
