Chinese capital from CEFC, China Energy Company Ltd. and Travel Service is now to take over 50 percent of the shares in the Czech Travel Service that operates scheduled flights under the brand name of SmartWings, and also offers charter, ad-hoc and aircraft leasing.
Travel Service that operates a fleet of 47 aircraft including Airbus Family, Boeing 737NG aircraft also has subsidiaries in Slovakia, Poland and Hungary.
In 2007, the Icelandair Group acquired 50 percent of the share in the Czech carrier, increasing its stake further to 80 percent in 2008, but after that diluting its ownership stake before quitting entirely from 2009, when the company was taken over by the two other co-owners Unimex Group and Roman Vik
