Sep 08, 2015 (newstodate): Swissport's deal to acquire the SAS Group's handling arm, SGH did not materialize. But now the fate of SGH is finally being sealed.
A release out today breaks the news that Aviator Airport Alliance Europe has today signed a LoI with SAS aiming at taking over SAS Ground Handling's operations at the major Scandinavian airports Oslo Gardemoen, Copenhagen, Arlanda, Malm and Gothenburg.
The LoI gives Aviator the exclusive right to work during the autumn period towards reaching a final agreement on the transaction.
-Both parties have a joint ambition to work towards a quick process, but we must also respect the complexity that comes of a transaction of this size, Aviator says in the release.
While not specified in the release, the "complexity" also comprises not least the sensitive issues of union response to the planned acquisition.
