Sep 24, 2015 (newstodate): One major operator of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is Air India.
In the fleet of the carrier are now 21 Boeing 787 - but one has been grounded since January 2015 due to lack of spares by Boeing.
The carrier has been haunted by a long series of snags, primarily electrical equipment failures, and Air India has been forced to partly cannibalize on one aircraft to secure the other aircraft in the fleet.
Boeing has now, however, been filling up its stores of spares and components to support Air India that expects to have the "cannibalized" Dreamliner back in service by November 2015.
In total, Air India has placed orders for 27 Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
