Aug 25, 2015 (newstodate): Only one year ago in summer 2014, a shortage of pilots led Russia to allow its airlines to recruit western and other non-Russian flight deck crews. Now the tide has turned.
By the end of this week, Turkish Airlines is sponsoring an event in Moscow to attract applicants from Russian carriers to fill vacancies in its flight crew program.
And Turkish Airlines is not alone in seeking Russian pilots to join its ranks.
Among other carriers known to have already recruited Russian pilots are airlines including Qatar Airways, Emirates, Korean Air, Air China Cargo, Vietnam Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, and Eva Air.
