Aug 14, 2015 (newstodate): West Atlantic is planning to increase its freighter fleet to meet new contracts.
The company has landed six new long-term Boeing 737 contracts taking effect from 2015 and early 2016.
To meet these demands, the Group is now sourcing capacity, and two of these contracts are upgrades to existing routes already served by the company's ATP freighters.
West Atlantic put its first Boeing 676-200F freighter in commercial service with TNT in April 2015, and plans to a second aircraft, already signed, by Q4, 2015 or Q1, 2016.
In the fleet now are a total of 56 freighter aircraft, including 39 ATP and 11 Boeing 737 aircraft two of which were delivered in Q2, 2015, as well as three CRJ200PF.
