Aug 19, 2015 (newstodate): Taiwan's EVA Air has been touring the Scandinavian markets to monitor the potentials for attracting more passengers on flights to and from Taiwan.
-We do call on the markets regularly to meet with agents and assess the situation, says Mohini Patel, EVA Air commercial manager, based in the UK.
-I am convinced that there is actually a huge untapped possibility to raise the number of visitors to Taiwan in addition to serving the business segment. We only need to set up closer relations with the agents in the Scandinavian markets to exploit these possibilities.
-I do not, however, foresee the opening of direct flights between Taiwan and Scandinavia by EVA Air, relying instead of strengthening the transit by other carriers into our hubs at London, Amsterdam and Vienna. I also doubt if we would have air services agreements in place between Taiwan and Scandinavia, but this is of course up to HQs to comment upon, says Ms Patel.
