Aug 17, 2015 (newstodate): West Atlantic is pursuing its decision to consolidate its two airlines, Sweden's West Air and the UK carrier Atlantic Airlines into one organization.
The time frame has now been set at Q2 or Q3, 2016, after which the consolidated carrier will operate on the basis of one AOC, benefiting from significant cost savings.
With a significant intake of new orders so far into 2015 requiring further expansion of the aircraft fleet, and on the basis of a positive financial performance during the first half of this year, the recent AGM decided to further explore the possibilities of a listing on NASDAQ Stockholm to raise fresh capital to financing of the planned development.
Atlantic Airlines merged with the Swedish carrier West Air Europe in 2008 to establish the new airline West Atlantic.
