Aug 04, 2015 (newstodate): SAS is returning services on the route to Hong Kong from September 10, 2015 - but with other aircraft than originally planned.
Intentions were to introduce the first of the carrier's coming new Airbus A330-300E on the route between Stockholm and Hong Kong, but delivery has been delayed, forcing the carrier to start out with an Airbus A330-300 with reduced capacity on the long-haul flight.
In June 2013, SAS placed orders for delivery of four A330-300E as well as eight Airbus A350-900, deliveries of which will start in 2018.
SAS last served Hong Kong with flights from Copenhagen Airport, in Denmark, until 2004.
