Aug 24, 2015 (newstodate): Already a rather frequent guest at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport, Ryanair has again called media to a press conference attended by Ryanair's CEO on August 26, 2015.
While no details have been revealed, Mr O'Leary will probably announce the opening of further new routes from Copenhagen Airport that was closed down as a Ryanair base early July 2015 after losing a fierce battle with the heroic Danish unions in their defense of the "Danish model".
Following the court ruling, Ryanair closed down the Copenhagen base opened only on March 2015 with up to four Boeing 737-800 aircraft deployed to serving 11 routes.
While closing down the base at Copenhagen, Ryanair announced the opening of a further three new routes to Copenhagen with a daily Kaunas service replacing its Copenhagen-Warsaw route which was closed from July 15, and new routes from Copenhagen to Bologna and Edinburgh, which will start from November both with three weekly rotations.
In all, Ryanair has thus so far scheduled 12 routes connecting to Copenhagen Airport.
