Aug 28, 2015 (newstodate): Transaero would be the first - and so far only - Russian carrier to take the Airbus A380 into its fleet.
Slated for delivery from the end of 2015, four A380 were ordered in 2012 by the privately-owned airline to cope with expected rises in the long-haul traffic.
But since the, the crisis in Russia's economy has deepened and the value of the Ruble has been drastically devalued, and Airbus and Transaero have now agreed to postpone the deliveries pending better times to arrive.
Not exactly good news for Airbus either as the A380 has not fetched any new order for three years now.
