Aug 27, 2015 (newstodate): Norwegian has signed a contract with Boeing for delivery of two more Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The two Boeing 787-9 will be delivered to enter traffic in summer 2017, bringing the fleet to a total of 19 in 2018.
The Boeing 787-9 aircraft are larger than the 787-8 so far ordered, taking more passengers and cargo, offering longer range and lower fuel consumption per seat-mile.
In service with the carrier now are already eight Boeing 787, with 11 more earlier ordered and slated for delivery with four in 2016, five in 2017 and two in 2018.
All aircraft are leased from Norwegian's own leasing arm, Arctic Aviation Assets.
