Aug 04, 2015 (newstodate): The Nordic ground handling provider Aviator is aiming to become ISAGO-certified during the first half of 2016.
The ISAGO certification process includes two major audits performed by IATA-certified auditors, one administrative and one operative station audit. The first administrative audit must be completed, including corrective actions, before starting the second audit on a station.
Aviator's head office at Marsta will be audited during Q4, 2015, and
London-Gatwick, the station selected for the second audit, will be audited sometime during Q2, 2016.
The Aviator operation at London-Gatwick, launched in 2014, was chosen among Aviator's 23 stations due to the size of the station, its location, and the experienced staff that have earlier gone through a similar process.
The ISAGO registration is an IATA program modeled after the IATA Operational Safety Audit, IOSA, assessing ground service providers' operational management and control systems.
Part of the process is an independent audit comprising check of conformity to 119 standards of safety, as well as validation of airport handling services on 212 indicators.
