Aug 07, 2015 (newstodate): Airport charges at Lithuania's three airports under the management of Airports of Lithuania will be unified under a new joint pricing system.
Irrespective of which airport an airline may consider for flights to and from Lithuania, the calculation of charges will be the same, and the incentive scheme to support the opening of new routes will also be unified to grant full transparency.
As a further step, work is progressing on opening a tender for concessions at the airports, presumably to take effect from 2017 already.
Since July 1, 2014, three international airports of Lithuania have come under one single juridical entity, State Enterprise Lithuanian Airports.
The country's fourth international airport at Siauliai is outside this joint management, belonging to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense and serving mainly as a NATO base as well as operating ad-hoc charter and cargo flights.
