Aug 18, 2015 (newstodate): Business is stable but volumes are low during the summer period still prevailing, according to the Latvian cargo GSA, Sky High Agency.
-We are seeing moderate traffic only during these months, but expectations are of course that volume will pick up again from autumn, says Agris Sedolins, Sky High Agency Managing Director and owner.
-Happily, we were never deep into business with the Russian market so the current turbulence has had only little effect on us. Actually, we had only little trucking of Belavia shipments beyond Minsk so this does not have an impact either.
-We serve our second customer airline, airBaltic with cargo sales in the Finnish market and here volumes are OK. But it goes without saying that the Finnish cargo market is very demanding as shippers and forwarders are rather conservative and tend to stick with their national carrier, Finnair.
-We are performing all sales in the Baltic markets as well as in Finland from our office here in Riga, having registered a company in Finland since June 1, 2011, following Belavia's launch of traffic to Helsinki, but actually we do not operate an own office there, says Mr Sedolins.
Sky High Agency was set up in the Baltic cargo GSA market by the start of 2010 with the Belarus carrier Belavia, operating between Minsk and Riga, as its launch customer.
