Aug 07, 2015 (newstodate): Icelandair has now taken delivery of the first of two Boeing 767 wide-body aircraft ordered.
The aircraft landed at Keflavik Airport on August 6, 2015, and was earlier operated by the Russian carrier Nordwind that operates a fleet of 18 aircraft of this type.
According to the plan, the two Boeing 767-300 aircraft will be introduced in scheduled services from spring 2016.
The airline will thus introduce the Boeing 676-300 aircraft on the route between Iceland and London Heathrow from April 15, 2016, with two daily rotations.
Starting from April 1, 2016, the carrier will also operate the Boeing 767 on the route between Iceland and New York JFK, with one daily rotation.
