Aug 24, 2015 (newstodate): The Baltic cargo GSA, AirProxy saw cargo volumes in June and July rather low in Tallinn, but rising in Riga.
-After all, these were mostly seasonal variations. But we are of course affected by the continued crisis in Ukraine and Russia as we did see much traffic, especially fish and other seafood imports transited to the Russian market. But other products, notably agricultural products, were always trucked, so we see little change in air cargo from these issues, says Viljar Lehtmets, AirProxy managing director.
-We have own offices in Riga and Tallinn and might consider opening up also in Vilnius at some point in time. But for the time being we are fully capable of covering the Lithuanian market from our head office here in Riga, and a decision of opening up an own office in Lithuania will require rather large volumes of business by our airline principals. But if the need arises, we will of course respond to this.
AirProxy serves as cargo CSSA in the entire Baltic region for SAS Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, CSA Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo, and Coyne Airways.
