Jul 28, 2015 (newstodate): Taking effect from August 1, 2015, TNT Sweden is to close down its cargo services at Vasteraas, moving instead the entire operation to Orebro Airport.
-This will bring in a significant extra volume to Orebro Airport that has five weekly Boeing 737 freighter TNT flights between Liege and Orebro, says Haakan Nilsson, Orebro Airport Director Sales.
-So far into 2015, the total cargo volumes have been roughly on a par with last year, running slightly below levels, but with the addition TNT volumes coming in from August we are rather confident about this year's development, says Mr Nilsson.
TNT has been vacillating over its choice of main hub in Sweden, closing down freighter operations at Orebro in August 2008 and moving instead its freighter services to Vasteraas - a decision reversed again later, and now the decision has been made to close down at Vasteraas and focus on Orebro and Stockholm alone.
