Jul 30, 2015 (newstodate): Estonian Air has now signed up for delivery of two Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft as part of its fleet strategy.
The two aircraft will be delivered on a leasing contract by mid-September 2015, replacing the Embraer 170 aircraft that are in the process of redelivery to Finnair.
According to plans, the first of four E-170 will leave Estonian Air already this week, with the last aircraft going out by the end of October as the airline turns to its coming new winter schedule.
Already in the fleet of Estonian Air are three Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft that offer up to 90 seats against the CRJ700's maximum of 78 seats.
With this decision, Estonian Air has obtained the efficiency and economic benefits from operating a single-type aircraft fleet.
As a temporary solution, Estonian Air has also leased one Embraer 145 aircraft to support its short-haul traffic.
