Jul 29, 2015 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport saw its total cargo and mail volumes down by 4.1 percent, y-o-y, during the first six months of this year.
A total of 61,924 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, including 43,734 tonnes of international cargo, down 2.7 percent, 3,507 tonnes of domestic cargo, down 9.3 percent, 2,591 tonnes of international mail, down 16.2 percent, and 9,546 tonnes of domestic mail, that was also down 4.6 percent.
In June 2015 alone, the airport handled a total 89,992 tonnes of cargo and mail which was a decline by 12.3 percent, y-o-y.
International cargo also dropped 16.1 percent to 6,173 tonnes in June.
The Avinor statistics comprise only flown cargo and mail volumes, thus excluding the substantial volumes of seafood exports trucked from Norway to continental hubs.
