Jul 27, 2015 (newstodate): After a long history in serving the market with flights connecting the UK and Kazakhstan, British Airways is pulling out from the market.
The last flight on the route between London Heathrow and Almaty will be operated on October 11/12, 2015, leaving Kazakhstan's flag carrier Air Astana alone in serving the market for air transportation between the two countries.
British Airways cites uneconomical performance on the route behind the decision to pull out.
Air Astana currently operates three weekly flights from Almaty and Astana to London and will introduce the new Airbus A320NEO Long-range aircraft on the routes as the first of four aircraft ordered is delivered in 2016.
