Jun 26, 2015 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways is seeing good results from operating its two converted Boeing 767-300ER freighters replacing the earlier lease from Korean Air Cargo of two Airbus A300-600 freighters from the end of 2014.
During the period from December 2014 to June 15, 2015, the converted Boeing-767-300 BCF made 109 regular and 21 charter cargo flight, lifting a total of 6,048 tonnes of cargo.
One of the two new freighters recently performed the first charter flight on the route Guangzhou-Navoi-Tashkent-Astana-Navoi, transporting 30 tonnes of lighting equipment from Guangzhou to Astana.
Regular cargo flights from Navoi to Shanghai and to Amsterdam are now offered twice weekly.
In this year's Q1, Uzbekistan Airways alone has performed 98 freighter flights lifting 2,600 tonnes of cargo, and expectations are that the total cargo volumes at the Central Asian cargo hub Navoi Airport will reach 37,500 tonnes as the network by Uzbekistan Airways and Korean Air Cargo expands through the year.
