Jun 16, 2015 (/newstodate): After a second tender, Post Sweden has now found a partner for its postal flights in the coming new contract period.
Or rather: Post Sweden has confirmed that Amapola will continue serving the country with postal flights under program that comprises about 180 departures every week, requiring 14 aircraft to serve 12 airports, and with provisions for the main contractor to sub-contract parts of the total network to other parties to secure the optimal match between specific airports and aircraft types.
Starting from January 1, 2016, the new contract will run for four years, with a provision for extension by another year during the period.
Post Sweden first launched the tender for postal flights in November 2014, with the process to be completed within a month - but the tender was called off due to insufficient tender documents causing a second tender to be opened.
