Jun 11, 2015 (newstodate): The Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways is encouraged with results from its first months with flights to Edinburgh and has now decided to work towards offering year-round services.
With the first flight on the route between Vagar and Edinburgh on March 30, 2015, plans were to operate only during the summer schedule ending in October.
But flights will now be continued until December 18, with another flight on January 4, 2016, to round-off the Christmas traffic.
After that, flights will start again from March 18, 2016, continuing through the summer season, and plans are to see the route turn into an year-round service.
The route, served twice-weekly with Airbus A319 aircraft, is part of the carrier's NORTH-strategy launched in 2014.
The carrier has selected the GSA provider Flight Directors as its General Sales Agent in the UK and Ireland.
