Jun 17, 2015 (newstodate): Russia's leading air cargo company, the Volga-Dnepr Group has placed a large order with Boeing for more freighter aircraft.
The Group has signed a MoU to acquire a further 20 Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft as part of its fleet expansion program.
The Volga-Dnepr Group's AirBridgeCargo is already operating six Boeing 747-8F and was the first to order the Boeing 747-8 Freighter in Russia, taking delivery of its first unit in 2012.
These additional 20 aircraft will be acquired through a mix of direct purchases and leasing over the next seven years.
Volga Dnepr currently operates 10 An-124-100 and five IL-76TD-90VDas well as five Boeing 747-400ERFs, three Boeing 747-400F, six Boeing 747-8 Freighters, and three Boeing 737-400F in the fleet of Atran.
