Jun 25, 2015 (newstodate): Hopes are rising in Armenia for re-start of a national carrier to serve the country's demand for air travel.
Air Armenia has found a new investor and now expect traffic, suspended since October 29, 2014, due to financial problems, to start again from this autumn.
The carrier still holds a valid AOC but will now have to rewrite its documentation to obtain a fresh commercial and other licences.
No decision on the coming route network has yet been announced, but the fleet will comprise Embraer aircraft for short-haul and Airbus aircraft for longer routes.
Before its grounding in 2014 the carrier operated a fleet comprising two Airbus A320 and one Boeing 737 aircraft.
