Jun 05, 2015 (newstodate): Plans for the start of operations by the new carrier Small Planet Airlines Germany are maturing.
The carrier, member of the Lithuanian Small Planet Group and a subsidiary of Small Planet Airlines, will start flights in summer 2016 with two Airbus A320 on Lithuanian registration pending an own AOC issued by the German CAA, expected in 2016.
Talks with German tour operators focus on flights to leisure destinations including the Canary Islands from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover and Munich, with Cologne/Bonn and Berlin Tegel among other options.
The new company was announced in May 2015, managed by Andreas Wobig and Oliver Pawel, former Germania CEO and CCO.
