Jun 02, 2015 (newstodate): Kyrgyzstan has now officially opened its latest new airport, Tamchy International Airport.
The airport started operations in 1975 and has so far worked without any instrument landing systems, operating only during daylight hours.
A major project for upgrading of the airport including extension to 2,500m of the runway has now been completed and hopes are to attract international traffic to the region featuring the Issyk Kul District.
