Jun 22, 2015 (newstodate): The Iranian carrier Mahan Air is reported to have divested of its three disputed Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
For a start, Mahan Air has sold, or transferred, one of the aircraft to another Iranian carrier, Smile Air, and sources claim that the two remaining aircraft will also go to Smile Air that is displaying on facebook its intention to have three of these aircraft in its fleet in 2015.
Mahan Air acquired the three Boeing 747-400 aircraft from Blue Sky Airlines in 2008, allegedly using forged bills of sale.
Despite being ordered to return the aircraft, Mahan Air kept the aircraft in Iran where they have been stored until now.
Mahan Air is now instead pinning its sustained development on the fleet of four Airbus A340-300 aircraft as well as the seven A340-600 aircraft bought earlier this summer.
The carrier has already introduced the A340-600 aircraft on routes from Tehran to Milan and Athens.
