Jun 03, 2015 (newstodate): Iceland will see more German connections in 2015, with airberlin firming up its services.
Operating seasonal summer flights between Berlin Tegel and Keflavik since 2010, airberlin will turn its summer flights into an all-year service from the coming winter schedule.
Plans are to offer two weekly rotations on the route during the winter schedule, operating with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Lufthansa is also to significantly increase its services between Germany and Iceland from this summer.
Since 2011, Lufthansa has been offering seasonal flights from Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Berlin to Keflavik on Iceland.
From June 2015, these flights have been taken over by Lufthansa's subsidiary Germanwings, and at the same time Lufthansa will launch flights on new routes to Iceland from Frankfurt and Munich.
Lufthansa will fly to Iceland from Frankfurt and Much three times per week, but plans are to continue servicing these routes on a year-round basis.
