Jun 23, 2015 (newstodate): Once a leading cargo airport in Sweden, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport has seen its volumes down during the last few years as freighter traffic was lost.
In the first five months of this year, the airport has handled a total of 4,789 tonnes of cargo, down 46.1 percent, y-o-y.
In January-May 2014 the airport handled a total of 6,429 tonnes of international cargo, a volumes that dropped by 27.5 percent, y-o-y, to 4,660 tonnes in 2015.
From the start of 2014, Emirates reduced its freighter services at the airport from three to two weekly rotations and pulled out entirely from July 1, 2014, moving all Scandinavian freighter flights to Copenhagen instead.
Prior to that, Asiana also left Gothenburg Landvetter from September 7, 2012.
