Jun 08, 2015 (newstodate): In May 2015, Finnair Cargo noted an over-all decline in cargo volumes by 20.3 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 10,301 tonnes.
The picture is marked by the shortfall of freighter operations since the turn of the year, but none of the carrier's business segments showed an increase during the month, with the crucial Asian traffic down 4.4 percent to 6,444 tonnes.
Worst hit was the European traffic where volumes dropped 19.5 percent to 1,785 tonnes, but the North Atlantic volumes were also down 13.9 percent to 500 tonnes.
In the first five months of this year, Finnair Cargo lifted a total of 50,964 tonne which was 16.2 percent down on 2014.
